5 Things Every Business Owner Should Automate First

Most business owners trying to “use AI” start in the wrong place. They open ChatGPT, ask it to write a social media caption, get something generic, and conclude AI is overrated.

The tool isn’t the problem. Captions just aren’t where your money is leaking.

Here’s the order we’d do it in, based on what actually returns money.

1. Answering customer enquiries

Always first. Every unanswered message is a customer who paid you nothing and cost you an ad click.

Automate the reply, not the relationship. Instant acknowledgement, real answers on price and availability, and a booking.

2. Writing down who enquired

The second-biggest leak, and the most boring to fix. A lead that lives only in a WhatsApp thread doesn’t really exist. Nobody follows up with a thread.

Every enquiry should become a record: name, number, what they asked about, and what happened next.

3. Following up with people who went quiet

Most businesses never do this at all. Someone asks the price, says “I’ll think about it”, and never hears from you again.

One follow-up a few days later brings a good number of them back. It’s the cheapest revenue you have and almost nobody collects it.

4. Knowing your numbers

Not a dashboard for its own sake. Four numbers: what a lead costs you, what a booking costs you, how many people who book actually show up, and which ad produced which customer.

Without these you’re guessing every month, and guessing is expensive.

5. Content and posting

Yes, last. Content matters, but automating your posting while enquiries go unanswered is polishing the window of a shop with nobody behind the counter.

Fix the counter first.

The uncomfortable rule

Automate what’s losing you money today, not what’s most fun to automate. For almost every service business in Pakistan that means answering messages, not making content.

We teach exactly this, in this order, in AI for Business Owners. Or if you’d rather we just ran it for you, message us.
